1. Does TDA give out referrals?

We do not give out referrals of ANY kind – doctors, lawyers, etc…. for liability reasons and because we are a voluntary organization. The Texas Dental Association provides a “Find a Dentist” search function on the Public side of its we site. You can search by name, specialty, address, city, state or zip. Our list does not include all dentists in Texas – only those who are members of the TDA. We do not recommend one TDA dentist over any other.

2. Where can I find background information on a dentist?

We can only tell you if a dentist is a member of the Texas Dental Association. Contact Lee Ann Johnson, (512) 443-3675, leeann@tda.org. If you prefer, click on the Find a Dentist button on this website. Enter the name of the dentist and click find. If your search is successful, the dentist is a TDA member. An unsuccessful search means only that person is not a TDA member; it does not mean the dentist does not have a license to practice dentistry. The licensing and regulatory authority for dentistry in this state is the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE), 333 Guadalupe, Tower 3, Suite 800, Austin, TX 78701, (512) 463-6400, www.tsbde.state.tx.us. Contact TSBDE to see if a dentist has a license to practice dentistry or other information.

3. Can I get the phone number or address for a particular doctor?

The TDA staff is not authorized to give this information over the telephone to anyone except a fellow TDA member. However, if the dentist is a TDA member, contact information for TDA member dentists is available on the Public side of the TDA website. Click on the Find a Dentist button to the left of the screen, and initiate a search. For information on all dentists licensed in Texas, contact the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE), 333 Guadalupe, Tower 3, Suite 800, Austin, TX 78701, (512) 463-6400, www.tsbde.state.tx.us.
